"RadioAngel and the RobotBeat" is composed of songs which express an intense concern for values, life's habits and everyday changes which make the world of "today" seem very different from the past and quite scary.
The lyrics carry a lot of meaning. They leave the listener thinking and sometimes speechless, while at the same time, the melodies are a mix of plenty of different styles, which would for most part, make you move all night long.
The first notes of the album's first song, "American Hookers," are reminiscent of Marilyn Manson's beats, making the listener wonder if they are listening to something new by Gram Rabbit, or something musically recycled.
Doubt is quickly erased after hearing the next songs. This album contains everything excepted recycle beats.
The tune "The Rest of us Sleep" is certainly the oddest song of the album and it has the most unexpected beat, which makes the listener think of video-game sounds.
The best songs are certainly "In My Book," for its voices superposition and the really lively beat, and "The Places Where We Go" for its perfect match between an amazing text and a beautiful, yet calmer rhythm.
Gram Rabbit's style is uneasy to define or even to compare to another band or singer.
Their style is pure and matchless. With this third record they will undoubtedly satisfy the addicts and gain new fans.
Gram Rabbit, founded in 2004 by Jesika von Rabbit and Todd Rutherford in Joshua Tree, California really have their own unique style. After "Music To Start a Cult To" and "Cultivation," this third release is more funky and danceable, but still includes the band's harder edge.
Beyond the style of music that one could like or dislike, this band carries a lot of sense and image; they really have a strong unique universe of music.
