The Office of Special Program was awarded a federal grant insuring that the administrative center will remain open for the next two years.
The decision to allot the College Cost Reduction Access Act Grant was postponed from August to late September, leaving the OSP and its staff in a financial limbo. With the award of $796,000 the association that houses Honors and Teacher Preparation among other programs will remain open indefinitely.
With the new Grant comes a new mission statement that adds a focus on math, science and engineering initiatives to the OSPs' list of agendas.
"I'm excited about the opportunities this will bring our campus, and our students." said Karen Rose Director of the Office of Special Programs, "It's going to allow us to offer some services and academic enhancements that with out the grant we wouldn't be able to do".
