Election props up budget issues

Californians have the chance to decide the direction of the state's budget when they go to the polls May 19 to vote on seven propositions on the 2009 special election ballot. The voters decision could greatly influence the community college system, in particular the North Orange County Communty College District.

New dome donned by library

After months of speculation as to when the colorful dome that tops Fullerton College's library would be
repaired, the student body got its wish Saturday.

Insead of repairing the giant mosaic structure, workers removed the original dome and replaced it
with an identical one.

After weeks of speculation and delays, the associated students election committee confirmed the campaign process yesterday in front of the student senate.

The committee was investigating possible vioaltions during the one-week campaign.

Two violations disqualify candidates, which caused nervousness among some of the winners, even though none of the races were close.

In this day and age, a plane flying low over a city would typically scare most, if not all, of its residents.
The morning of April 27, a jet plane flew over New York City's towering buildings, coming a little too close for comfort.
The sight of the low-flying plane sent New York City residents into a panic.

Editorial: District in debt, cuts to be met

Fullerton College will be facing massive faculty and pay reductions in the coming semesters.

Already, the state is near $11 billion in debt, leaving the North Orange County Community College District $12 - 14 million in debt. If Propositions 1A and 1B, in the upcoming election, do not pass, an additional $7 million will be tacked onto the NOCCCD's deficit, meaning the district could be close to $20 million in debt.

Hypnotist commands audience to laugh it up

The hypnotist show started with a joke and ended with a striptease.

The Associated Students welcomed Hypnotist Suzy Haner to Fullerton College yesterday in the College Center from noon - 1 p.m., providing embarrassment for some and laughs for all.

In the last major tournament of the year, Fullerton College's debate team earned a second place finish at the Palomar Pacific Southwest Collegiate Forensics Association tournament.
