Constitution Redraft Unnecessary

A radical change to the Associated Students of Fullerton College Constitution was proposed April 29 under the heading "Addition of a new position."

The motion was rejected by a vote of 11 against, four in favor with six abstentions. The proposed amendment raised valid questions about A.

Protesters March in Downtown Santa Ana

Protesters marched through the streets of Santa Ana Thursday afternoon in efforts to bring attention to immigration reform. With only 200 participants, there has been a major decline in participants in comparison to the last couple of years.

In Santa Ana last year about 2,000 participated and 15,000 in 2006.

New A.S. Officers

At Tuesday's Associated Students Senate meeting, Rajan Vaidya was promoted to A.S. president-elect.

The senator was A.S. Vice President-elect.

The promotion came as a result of former A.S. President-elect Marita Soler's resignation. She resigned in order to attend the University of California Santa Barbara next semester.

Fullerton College spends only part of funds allocated for supplies and materials where they were originally intended. The college uses a system known as "rollover" to provide funding in many areas outside original intended usage. Money left over from one school year can be placed next year in any place decided by the college.

"I thought I'd rather be dead than paralyzed and never surf again," said Jesse Billauer, a paralyzed proferssional surfer. He was wrong.

Billauer spoke in the Campus Theater Wednesday. His speech was the first in a series entitled: "Overcoming Adversity," put on by the Cadena Transfer Center and the Disability Support Services.

The American Lung Association released its annual report on air pollution Thursday, ranking cities affected by pollution. Pittsburgh trumped the Los Angeles area as the top U.S. city most polluted by short-term particle pollution.

Harmful human living habits - driving petroleum-based automobiles, using computers powered by coal-fired power plants and use and improper disposal of products that harm the environment are all part of problem.

At first glance, Off the Chain is a hodgepodge store, presumably run by some middle-aged man attempting to relive his glory days vicariously through the scene that is being generated next door at Chain Reaction, a popular all ages venue in Anaheim.

Upon entering Off the Chain, it becomes apparent that rather then the aforementioned assumption, it is a haven for young music lovers and their friends and families.

Students had a glimpse of the glitz and glamour of fashion at the Diversity Festival Wednesday on the Quad. The Fashion Design and Merchandising Department utilized the opportunity to display the progress students have made throughout the semester.

The competition took place April 19 at the Los Angeles Trade Technical College; the work of four design students fueled the show.

Victory for FC's Speech Team

The Fullerton College forensics (speech and debate) team took part in the Cal State Fullerton Novice Tournament this past weekend. This is the last tournament of the year for the forensics team.

Nine FC students took part in this competition.

"Everyone was novice, so it's important for them to get these early experiences to build motivation and skills.
