For those still in mourning over the death of the "King of Pop", seeing unseen footage of Michael Jackson preparing for the tour that would never materialize might prove to be bittersweet help with the healing process.

The upcoming film is titled, “This Is It,” which was the name of the series of concerts Jackson was scheduled to perform in London.

The planned tour was supposed to mark his comeback and reclaim his credibility as an artist.

Most of the film is made up of rehearsal footage that took place at the Staples Center but it will also include interviews with friends and colleagues of Jackson, as well as a career retrospective.

Directing the film will be Kenny Ortega, best known for his work on the two High School Musical movies.

Ortega acted as the creative partner on Jackson’s “Dangerous” and “HIStory” world tours. He was also planning to direct Jackson’s London concert series, so it is only appropriate that he is the director of the documentary film version of the This Is It concerts.

There has not yet been an official list the songs that will appear in the film, but songs such as “Smooth Criminal,” “Billie Jean,” and “Man in the Mirror” have  all be seen in the trailer.

An accompanying soundtrack to the film will be out on October 27, while a new song by Jackson will be released on October 12.

The movie will come to theatres on October 28, but tickets can be purchased in advance on the Web at thisisit-movie.com or fandago.com.
