This past Saturday Insomniac brought the much-anticipated Nocturnal Festival to the burning city of San Bernardino, which brought over 40,000 Fans to the Fantasy land that was created at the Nos Event Center. The festival was expanded to feature 6 stages that featured different types of music on each at each stage, making this years Nocturnal the biggest one yet.
The Gates opened at 4:00 P.M. and eager fans could be seen piling into the Festival Grounds with a steady stream of late arrivals throughout the 12 hours of Dance music.
Arriving at the festival, the first stage to experience was the main stage cleverly named The Labyrinth for its huge crowds that made it almost impossible for most people to travel through. First up was Joaquin Bamaca, who played a varied set of great trance music that had the early arriving fans dancing till the Sun swooped out of the sky and the moon rose, transforming the hot day into a worm tranquil night of rolling beats and good vibes throughout the festival grounds.
After Joaquin Bamaca wormed up the crowed, fan favorites Filo & Peri came on stage with a mind bending performance that included the fan favorite “The Anthem song” which had the crowed singing along throughout most of there phenomenal set.
Next up was a long hike over to the Sunken Garden to listen to some Drum & Bass music. Simon Bassline Smith played a hard hitting and very loud set that had the D&B fans dancing like mad men as well as fellow DJ’s hanging out on stage. Some of the most notable acts on The Sunken Garden stage were United Kingdoms own D&B ledged TC, and the always-high energy performance of Pendulum, which topped off the night.
After hitting the Drum and Bass tent for a while, the main stage started to kick off with an amazing set by Rank 1, which played a high intensity trance set that had fans in a frenzy. After Rank 1 finished the Sunken Garden was kicking off with the phenomenal TC which played many of his notable songs from his début album included “Where’s My Money” and “RockStar” which had the packed crowd going out of controlle.
Once my eardrums were blown out, the main stage was the next place to be because of Christopher Laurence magnificent performance that had enuff energy to power California. But soon after Chris finished, the man of the night Ferry Coreston, came on stage with his “twice in a Blue Moon: the Experience” which went on for three hours in total and had the packed crowed dancing for the rest of the night at the Labyrinth.
