"Punk Goes Pop 4" is the twelfth compilation album in the Fearless Records, Punk Goes... series. The compilation tracks are known for featuring well known artists as well as unknown artists. Some of the more reconginzed artists include Escape the Fate, A Static Lullaby and Cute Is What We Aim For, are just some of the featured artists from their previous albums.
Punk Goes Pop 4 includes a twist on popular pop songs from the past few months.
The third song on the album is "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" by Katy Perry covered by Woe, Is Me. It is a screamo/ hardcore version of the song. The tempo the song was kept he same he way it was delivered was completely different. It was a boy version of the song of the way that they party on a Friday night, while still keeping the base of the song.
The seventh song on the album is "You Belong With Me" by Taylor Swift and is covered by For All Those Sleeping. They took a song that we all know and love but and added sceamo base to it.
It is the male version of the song and about a girl being with the wrong boy, which is the opposite view of the original song which was from the girl's point of view.
There are thirteen songs on the album, with an extra ten songs on the bonus CD. The CD is all about taking our favorite songs on giving them a new twist by having them performed by new artists.
In some cases the cover bands are not even in the same genre.
If gives individual's a way to step out of the box and listen to their favorite songs in a new way.
