Any sandwich aficionado knows the only place to get a worthwhile meal is a delicatessen.

The problem is finding a deli that is worth the drive past the countless Subways and Quizno's that inhabit every other street
corner in Fullerton.

Luckily for Fullerton College students, there is Roscoe's Famous Deli in downtown Fullerton.

Located off Harbor Blvd. on West Commonwealth, Roscoe's is a bar and deli that features freshly cut meats, cheeses and vegetables to create a sandwich that is sure to leave the guest full, yet still wanting more.

People go to Roscoe's for the chance to break the bland sandwich droll that is perpetuated by the plethora of fast-food chains.

Diners get the option to eat traditional meats: turkey, ham, bologna and roast beef, accompanied by deli favorites like corned beef, pastrami, capicolla and dry genoa salami.
Nothing goes better with deli-fresh meat like fresh cut cheese.
Swiss, cheddar, pepper jack and provolone make appearances on the many types of sandwiches.

Roscoe's even offers a variety of bread choices including sourdough, rye, squaw and rolls.
All of these ingredients are mixed together to form succulent creations like the "Silly Billy," "Italian Job" and the "Hornet".
Meals don't stop with sandwiches. Every order comes
complete with half of a pickle and the guest's choice of potato salad, macaroni salad, coleslaw, pasta, fruit, chili or soup.

If the sauce provided on the sandwich isn't enough, the tables come equipped with Grey Poupon Dijon mustard and Beaver's Deli and Sweet Hot mustards.

To spice things up a guest can add Gringo Bandito, a hot sauce made and distributed locally in Huntington Beach.

All of this food may sound expensive, but Roscoe's offers meals ranging from $8 - $11.

Roscoe's also features plenty of drink choices to wet one's whistle.

They offer traditional fountain drinks like soda, juice and ice tea; as well as many hard to find bottled sodas. These vary from Dr. Brown's and Boylan's assortment of Black Cherry sodas to Moxie Cola and Sioux City Sasparilla.

If a guest is looking for something a little more adult, Roscoe's also has a full bar and a healthy selection of popular beer on tap.

The restaurant is small on the inside where finding a place to eat can be a little difficult.

The large patio area offers more tables with more elbowroom to enjoy the meal.

A second bar with its own seating and a flat screen television adorn the patio as well.

On Sunday morning they offer an omelet bar starting at 9:30 to supplement breakfast while watching football.

All this makes Roscoe's a great place to catch one's favorite team play, and to enjoy delicious food and refreshing drinks.
Don't have time to sit and eat a meal? No problem. Roscoe's is happy to take an order to go and wrap it up fresh and fast.
Roscoe's is just a hop-skip-and-jump away from FC. Its variety of fresh deli ingridients and zesty side dishes make it worth the extra effort to walk by that Subway.

Roscoe's sandwiches are like Heroes: large portions of mediocre food. For high quality sandwiches you should also try Frati, just a couple doors down. (Continued…)
