Hornets Breeze Through Orange Empire Conference Finals
The Fullerton Collge track and field team heads to the Southern California Prelims.

The Hornets competed in the Orange Empire Conference Championships last weekend at Orange Coast College. Where three Hornet women walked away with conference championship titles.
The women demolished their competition, winning with 197 points, and gained another conference championship.
The men placed in sixth finishing with 61 points. Hornet Vanessa Juarez won the 400 meter dash with a winning time of 58.39.
While Hornet Joy Saleapaga and Orange Coast College Pirate Toshina Bryant battled for third place.
It was a photo finish as Bryant took home third place with a time of 1:01.53. Saleapaga finished fourth with at time of 1:01.55. Juarez also took home first place in the 800 meter run, finishing two seconds ahead of her competition with a time of 2:19.41.
"I feel like I can win state in the 800," Juarez said. "I'm trying to stay injury free. The key is warm up properly and cool down properly." In the 1500 meter run, Hornet Stephanie Kidder placed fifth with a time of 5:06.37.
Hornet Gabriela LaSusa placed second in the 100 meter hurdles, and third in the 400 meter hurdles.
Hornet Conference high jump winner Maryann Wee, won with a jump of five feet two inches. Hornet Ashley Fletcher took second in the high jump with a jump of five feet.
I feel I have the best coaches in the world, coaches that care about us," Juarez commented. "I'm so proud to be apart of and contribute to the FC track team."
Hornet Unaloto Makanesi won the shot put with a throw of 39- 10.50.
Hornet Michael "Money Mike" Trimble came in fourth in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.29. In the 800 meter run, Hornet Jose Aldama took fourth place with at time of 2.01.59.
Hornet Delbert Hodge placed third in the 110 meter hurdles, while Hornet Lucas Carrillo placed fifth. Hornet T.J. Hopson took the triple jump with a winning jump of 45-10.
"It feels good. I feel like I have to do the same thing at So. Cal," Hopson commented.
Hopson feels his chances at the Southern California prelims are good.
"I think I have a good shot," Hopson replied. "The best from me is yet to come, I just keep getting better." All of the Hornet coaches are proud of their team for making it this far in the season.
"I think everyone stepped it up at the O.E.C. finals," said Hornet Assistant Coach Ty Winn.
