The men's soccer team is looking extremely promising during their pre-season matches thus far. On August 29 the Hornets shut out Chaffey College 5-0, and on Friday, the team continued their triumphant run with a 2-0 blanking of El Camino College.

Carlos Guerra, a sophomore, has been the only goalkeeper in the two contests. He finished with eight saves against El Camino and has yet to be scored upon. Rommel Rios, a forward, put one in the net, and defensemen Rutilio Avila added another to wrap up the contest. Freshman Elias Rivera had an assist.

This years Hornets could go places in a very short time. On this season's team there are other players that Coach Scott Giles believe could be a force this year. David Gomez, a forward, is a freshman from Brea Olinda, He is one of 19 freshman on the team this season. According to Giles, any one of them can come into the limelight before the season opens September 22 at Southwestern College. Regardless it will be a season to follow.
