Fullerton College Women's water polo team is set to kick off their 2006 season at the Sadddleback Tournament on September eight and ninth. The lady Hornets play their first match against LA Trade Tech. The women's water polo head coach Cassandra Sanders feels confident in her team's success at the upcoming tournament.

"We should take the whole tournament," Sanders said. "We are a young team with only three returning players."

Sophomores Alice Koopmans, Shauna Sinclair and Alyssa Chamberlin will provide leadership to the freshman learning to play at the collegiate level. This will help the women regain their dominance in the Orange Empire Conference.

Despite having such a young team, the women hope to repeat their victorious record achieved in the previous season. "Last year we were third in our conference and fourth in Southern California." Their tournament at Saddleback will be their first test for the upcoming season.

When the team is not busy working hard in the water, they are forming chemistry and staying loose outside of the pool deck. "We go to the beach," Sanders said, "we have a lot of fun, yet we are a competitive team."

With that said, all that is left is to wait and see how the season unfolds.
