From start to finish, Roadside Burgers is by far the fast food establishment with the best service, but the greatness ends at its appearance.

Roadside Burgers is a family owned establishment located on Harbor Boulevard towards Chapman Avenue.

When you first walk in, you are greeted with a smile and are politely asked, "how are you today?" by the employees. The employees are friendly and will do everything to make your visit the best. With a wide variety on the menu, Roadside Burgers serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Even an in-between meal snack can be had at this local spot.

Walking into Roadside Burgers, it seemed to be promising. The layout of the restaurant was nice and very efficient, with the register at the front and a number of tables behind a divider, patrons can enjoy their meal as if they were not in a fast food restaurant. Each table was fashioned with a small vase featuring an artificial rose.

This made me feel more at ease during my dinner; it truly felt like home. This was all due to the type of tables used and the added bonus of a rose at each one.

The cleanliness of Roadside Burgers was outstanding as well. While in the establishment I saw the employees constantly cleaning the place and making sure everything was up to par.

When my order was ready, they even brought it to my table, unlike most fast food restaurants. With the employees at your whim, you may not realize that you are not in a five star restaurant such as Mimi's Café. The food, on the other hand, is a whole different subject.

The menu ranges from omelets, French toast, and fries to hamburgers, chicken strips, and even taquitos. Although it features a variety of foods, Roadside Burgers is lacking in the quality of their food.

Tasting their hamburger was like eating a piece of meat on sandpaper. The bread was too dry and the meat had an uncanny taste to it. In addition to the hamburger not being the best, or even one of the good ones, the fries also tasted dry. The taste was not natural.

The menu is reasonably priced with good sized portions for what you pay. Even a kids meal will fill up some adults. Saturday through Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., kids eat free with the purchase of an adult entrée. Dine in only.

Even with all of the perks of Roadside with their cleanliness, friendly service, homelike atmosphere, and free meals for kids, the food just brings the greatness level of it all way back down.
