On Friday September 15, the Veteran staff of the Employment Development Department is hosting the End of Summer Extravaganza Employment and Career Job Fair.

Over 35 different companies are hiring for full time or part time positions in union work, banking, retail sales and other occupations. The fair runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is located at the Orange County Hilton at 3050 Bristol St, Costa Mesa.

Paid training, health benefits, good salary and jobs that lead to careers are just some of the reasons why students should attend this fair. If nothing else, going to any job fair is a technique to brush up on interview skills and practice talking to employers.

Employers recommend that students show up prepared. Dress for success and bring pens and notepads for on-site interviews.

Also, take plenty of résumés. Consider bringing different versions of one's resume to appeal to different employers. Attend the job fair with the expectation that employers will be interviewing and hiring on the spot.

This event is open to public and provides an opportunity for job seekers to meet local employers and education providers throughout Orange County. Parking validation will be granted. The Veteran staff from EDD invites all students who are looking for a better job or to explore more career options to attend. For more information on the event and EDD, explore on the website www.edd.ca.gov.
