The Fall classical play by The Fullerton College Theatre Department is Cyrano De Bergerac, directed by Chuck Ketter.

It's about Cyrano, a man with a big nose who is in love with a woman, Roxanne. Oscar Martinez is portraying the title character, while his love interest will be performed by Tamalyn
Keene, who is his cousin in the play.

Roxanne is in love with Christian, who is Jake Lane, and she asks Cyrano to protect him. Cyrano takes the challenge. Christian likes Roxanne, too, but he is not as romantic. Cyrano and Christian join together despite their differences. Around the second half of the play, there's a lot of sword fighting and tears.

"It's one of the greatest theatrical critically acclaimed
romantic comedies, without the comedy." said Connor Keene, one of the many actors to take the stage for the production.

Fullerton's Theatre is performing a differently translated version, so the play will be easily understood, but still faithful to the original work. This play is one of the most performed plays in the world.
"I am excited to have the lead in such timeless piece," said Martinez.

The stage actor has been involved in multiple productions at Fullerton, but this is his first role as a lead. The students at Fullerton should expect a tale that they may be able to relate to.

"It's the old beauty and the beast paradox," said 19-year-old
FC student Alex Voorhies. This is a reason why the play remains so timeless. Keene, who plays Cyrano's understudy, described Cyrano as one of the most selfless figures in all of history.

The play is a production by the whole theater department. The costumes, make up, and sets are all manufactured by FC students.

The students of the technical theatre gain experience by
volunteering their hard work for the line-up this fall. The cast also has been having fun at rehearsal.

The art of sword fighting was taught to the class in order to
perform some of the battle scenes. All the boys are prepared in well staged fght scenes, which take place throughout the play.

Performances begin October 12 in the campus theatre, at 8:00 p.m. nightly.
