In 1948 entrepreneur Monte Wicker decided to jumpstart his newfound career in the photography industry by opening his own store.
Over the years Wicker had tired of his usual job and wanted to "be his own boss," as stated by his son, Chris Wicker.
With Monte's Camera shop up and running on N. Greenleaf Blvd. in Whittier, M. Wicker could finally determine his own destiny.
Ever since the opening day of Monte's, the store has been run by his family and has been providing the citizens of Whittier and beyond for decades.
