The soothing sounds of Jesse Harris fill his new album "Feel" with a relaxing and subtle
sound. Harris's collection of songs on "Feel" are all wonderfully written and expressed.
Harris is a Grammy winning singer/songwriter from New York that has just released his
seventh album, and it seems to be no exception to the collection of unique sounds. "Feel" is a compilation of well written and well composed sounds of emotion and catchy rhythms. Although his voice and type of music is indeed unique, it can safely said his voice and sound are similar to singers James Blunt, Jack Johnson, and bit like lead singer Adam Levine from Maroon 5.
Harris has also been busy with the release of the soundtrack to Ethan Hawke's 2006
film, "The Hottest State." Aside from starring in the Hawke directed film, Harris wrote all the songs on the soundtrack, which were all performed by other artists such as Willie Nelson, Cat Power, M. Ward, Bright Eyes, and many others.
Brazilian music was somewhat of an inspiration to Harris and is heard throughout the album with mixtures of the drums, guitar, organ and violin. It is almost hard to believe that the whole album was put together in three days. Harris has a soothing voice that relaxes the mind, body and soul.
Many of the songs in "Feel" have a common theme of romance and intimacy. Like in the
song "I Don't Mind" he gently and slowly sings about how he doesn't "mind waiting now," and his poetic lyrics simply take his music to a whole new level.
In another song, "Where to Start," Harris describes how there are so many things going
on his life that he simply doesn't know, "where to start" and how he could simply just "write a novel." Simple subjects like this are put together into a story told with a remarkable voice and music.
This album is a mixture of pop, indie and folk that mixes well together to let Harris's sounds come to life and even has the listeners "feel" his music.
