And there are only so many times one can scour the racks of Forever 21 before they feel like they've seen the girl in their Math class wearing the same dress. And although H&M seems like a perfect choice, the traffic to the South Coast Plaza is a loud cry for other options to be found.
There are alternatives that can solve time problems and garner bargains, and they can be found during a quick one-hour break in between classes.
Downtown Fullerton has several boutiques that have been making a splash in the fashion to be seen around town.
They are affordable, and offer adorable choices.
The "boutique" in general is a young woman's personal journey into fashion-forward individualism that sometimes seems to be lacking at the local retail chains.
Here is a glimpse into what these boutiques in downtown Fullerton offer.
Style Boutique
122 N. Harbor Blvd.,
Suite 102
Style Boutique may seem similar to any other clothing stores. It consists of huge silver belts, typical silk tank tops and black dress pants for going out.
These are all essentials in a college students' wardrobe, but it seems a little boring. However, there are a lot of gems to be found. Looking through the racks it won't be too much of a surprise to find an assortment of dresses, from empire-waisted, to floral or even a little black dress. In fact, everything is well priced in this store.
Out of all the stores, Style Boutique seems like it is really within the range of a college students' budget.
Teeze Boutique
122 N. Harbor Blvd.,
Suite 103
Proprietor Tula Randall brings an upscale feel to the downtown Fullerton strip with this chic boutique located on north Harbor Boulevard. Shoppers instantly discover an assortment of dresses that would make any hipster scream. It's not just by the originality of the cuts and patterns that she presents, but also by the prices.
Hosting such brands as Gwen Stefani's Harajuku Girls and tons of names that might even sound exotic to seasoned fashionistas, the selection seems almost endless. But don't fear the high price tags, make sure you check out the deals to be found on the sales rack. The thrill of finding a $200 dress knocked down to $90 is more than a little bit of an adrenaline rush.
The diversity of range and abstract pieces that Randall provides her customers makes any style background feel welcomed. A woman with a flair for rockabilly or even a beach bunny can leave with something that is absolutely perfect for them.
Teeze is the remedy to the search for the perfect outfit.
Roadkill Boutique
119 E. Commonwealth
When walking into this clutter of a store, shoppers might be overwhelmed if they are in a rush. But Roadkill cannot be walked through in just ten minutes. If given a full hour, a customer can find something new and intoxicating every minute.
The winter wear that is on display will have any shopper begging for rain clouds. The Lucca jackets and sweater dresses on the racks are some of the most original and inviting pieces this season. The sections offering accessories, shoes and purses are also a huge crowd pleaser. Within the accessories, the earring choices are almost reminiscent of tribal pieces.
These selections will bring out the bohemian hiding in anyone.
But these are not the only places to stop in and check out in downtown Fullerton. If you happen to be into more urban dress ware, Alter Ego sports the best in hip hop fashion. Stray Cat, Buffalo Exchange, and Out of Vogue are terrific examples of vintage gone good.
With all of these stores to look through, downtown Fullerton is worth stopping by to take a look.

Forgot to mention that the owner of Roadkill is completely rude. Shopping there was one of the worst visits to a boutique I've ever had. Lots of people feel this way. (Continued…)
