'Extinction' Not Enough For Third 'Evil'

Alice (Milla Jovovich) is roaming around deserted Nevada, not realizing that her old friend, Carlos Olivera, (Oded Fehr) belongs to a group of uninfected survivors who are also traveling across the desert. Alice is secretly being tracked, as well as cloned for a biological benefit to a wide-spread infection.
As if the world hasn't seen enough of flesh-crazed zombies, director Russell
Mulcahy added to the lack of creativity by bringing back crazed crows and devouring devil dogs. The special effects seemed to be lacking, especially since blowing up trucks in the midst of a zombie attack has become a popular and yet predictable way for the infected lead characters to sacrifice themselves for the better of mankind. In the midst of all the excitement of zombies, we must not forget the "Matrix" style bubbles in which the Alice clones are being held, and the "Alien 3" look-a-like that the villain turns into.
Add poor dialogue to the mix, with too much focus on the star faces, add a dash of
Ashanti on top, bake at an intoxicating temperature and you have a dried up version of an action movie.
Have no fear, "Resident Evil" lovers- there is hope of a fourth installment. The ending of this all-together lacking film, leaves you with the original Alice pairing up with unlikely sources in training for what seems like a war.
The first couple of "Resident Evils" were no more entertaining than watching your grandmother knit a sweater, and "Resident Evil: Extinction" lives up to the reputation, leaving you exactly where you began the hour and thirty five minutes before the previews started.
