A.S. oversaw the occasion, passing out fact booklets on the U.S. Constitution, holding a contest for the best theme-related booth decorations and holding elections for the A.S. Senate.
Mario Jose kicked off the events by singing the national anthem, followed by Michelle Forte's reading of a patriotic poem. FC's dancers, and cheerleaders both performed routines.
Day activities included the promotion of 13 different clubs and departments. The clubs were asked to set up their booths coinciding with the theme of the U.S. Constitution.
The motivation was a cash prize delegated to the club and the department best decorated while staying in the theme.
Phi Theta Kappa was announced winner for the clubs, and Financial Aid for the departments.
"A lot of people don't know about the Cosmetology department and the services we provide," said Erin Novak, the treasurer of the Trendsetters Club, "[so] we promoted the department by providing free haircuts and manicures."
Other booths handed out candy as a way to attract attention.
The A.S. elections were held with an increase in student participation. Last year there was an estimated 200 votes, this year the number increased to 283. All 26 senate positions were filled, leaving no room for the write-in ballots.
The night activities were spiced up with a DJ. AS passed out roughly 500 books on the U.S. Constitution to all who asked. They also provided hamburgers, lemonade, ice tea, and water to everyone present for the events.
"We thought there was a great energy and lots of participation," said Ethan Morse, A.S. President.
Morse also mentioned that the new Campus Commons building is scheduled to open on October 15 and encourages students to go see it.
The next night life event will be Homecoming Night Life, and will take place over three-days starting on October 30 and ending on November 1.
The event will feature there will be a pie-eating and a costume contest, clubs will set up information booths, and there will also be a live band.
Homecoming Night Life will be Las Vegas themed and held on the quad.
