Is petitioning still worth it?

Fullerton College students are more than familiar with the process of petitioning.

Due to the struggling economy more people want to continue there education however the resources are not available. Faculty senate urges instructors not to exceed class size, they feel it questions the quality of instruction.

By over adding it impacts the horrendous parking situation we are already in and the budget. Which will lead to future class cuts, in result we are doing a disservice to students and faculty.

"This is the worst I've seen it in twenty years," Ricardo Salas, political science.

He encourages students not to loose faith and continue being persistent, "students should always try, a lot don't show up the first day." Dr. Marcus Wilson, science, gave every available space to waitlisters and tried to add what he could, "It was sad for me to turn away so many students when they had no where else to go.

Dinushee Rajapakse, students 4 years, feels it's unfair that she has to spend more time in junior college because she couldn't get in to the classes she needs.

"Even when we are trying to register we have to deal with Mygateway crashing, by the time we get in, are classes are already full and having to petition on the first day on top of an hour of spent finding parking discourages me to even continue," she says aggravated." 

Most teachers try there best, but when there's only 2 spaces available and a line of twenty out the door it becomes difficult. Unfortunately there's no solutions in the near future, but don't loose hope Fullerton College. 

Although challenging to get, there are classes, Fullerton College is open to students that are willing to learn which is still a blessing.
